In this video I discuss how to raise money through donations and crowdfunding. Crowdfunding is a relatively new, but very effective way to raise money by getting donations.
The leading site for raising money via donations through crowdfunding is Kickstarter.com and the biggest such site is Indiegogo.com. There are also niche crowdfunding sites that specialize in raising money for science, apps, or other kinds of companies or projects.
In the video, I also give some tips so that you can raise money by getting donations more effectively. Some of the tips are to drive people to your crowdfuding page and hustle and to be creative, and not just sit around and wait for the donations to start coming in.
Many people write to me and ask how they can get donations for their business or non profit. Even if people start fundraising campaigns to raise donations, they don’t often succeed. For that reason, I recommend GoFundMe because they don’t have fundraising deadlines and you can collect donations perpetually.
