GREAT Advice! It is engaging to listen and then have something unexpected and well thought come from you that makes people enjoy your presence with them.
On a separate note concerning what color to paint your new office…my opinion on the subject is the moonshine grey. Although, the dark slate color of the background with the couple for fifty shades of grey would be my ultimate favorite in a two tone wall or a room with maybe one wall that dark color and the rest a lighter grey. ; )
Great message the problem with a lot of People is that they make conclusions based on hearsay or little bit of information and the wise people actually do a comprehensive research before they make their conclusion.
Getting someone to talk about those three subjects is a quick way to gauge their intelligence
Getting someone to talk about these allows you to know them on a more personal level, once they see you're willing to take on that they begin to trust you, they see you're genuine and that you're not faking it.
Once the trust is built, start pitching.

People who think big need to have a minimum information about the most important topics, even if it's a subject that they don't like that much. This is not just for opening doors with important people, but – most important of all – doors for new realms of unimagined possibilities of disruption and innovation.

Be educated about the world. I'd also think that it'd be good to hear from these influential individuals and listen to their opinions and thoughts because, speaking for myself I haven't had much experience in life so it'd be wise to hear from them so I can become more educated. Also, people like to talk about themselves and feel validated so asking in a way, sort of as to learn from them, about their opinion it'll be far more likely that they'll want to engage with you.
