Intel Skylake Reference Design for developers hands on http://www.mobilegeeks.com Intel is looking to reinvent the PC and one way it’s doing that is playing around with an dual display laptop, they are aiming to seed it with developers so that the device (if it ships) will have some cool functionality in that secondary display.
If you’re keen to get your hands on one, I’d head over here to the Intel Windows developer zone, I don’t see a specific link to this device, but this is where you will be able to find more details when they are available: https://software.intel.com/en-us/windows/home
Why won’t WiDi, um, die? It’s compression artifacts and high latency have
proven to be unsuitable for interactive use. Intel should just focus on 60
GHz WiGig technology which has much higher bandwidth and can support
uncompressed 4K with almost no lag. Plus, the fact that it doesn’t
propagate very far means it won’t interfere with your neighbors.
