LinkedIn Tightens Grip on Developers

LinkedIn says it’s making sweeping changes to its developers platform to weed out third-party products which it things are poor in quality or competitive to its business. The professional social network is changing the way it approaches application programming interfaces, which allow software applications to communicate with one another and share information. Until recently, LinkedIn has offered 10 different open APIs to developers. But come May 12, just four of those APIs will remain “open.”
